Are you curious about how to get your students off the road of tests and quizzes and on the road to mastery of content? This 3-hour workshop will give you the opportunity to learn about the three stages of Understanding by Design, a framework based on teaching and assessing for understanding and successful learning transfer. The first phase of the workshop will focus on the three stages of Backward Design: 1) Identifying desired results; 2) Determining acceptable evidence; 3) Planning of learning experiences and instruction. The remainder of the workshop will allow you time to reimagine a unit of your own (including assessments) based on the three aforementioned stages and add it to Canvas.
